This abstract image was indeed a labor of love. I spent many hours, days and weeks working on this creation until I knew it was just right, hence the title " No Surrender ". Multiple layers of acrylic paints were added, scraped away and manipulated. I added many different textures and incorporated Egyptian symbols that are slightly hidden from view but a wonderful element to the work if you look closely. The entire work is covered by a coating of Liquitex medium to protect the multiple layers and give it a light, gloss finish. I was thrilled to win the top honor award for the Best Imaginative Abstract at The Robert McLaughlin Gallery 50th Anniversay Juried Art Exhibition for this piece. The sides of this gallery canvas are painted black and my personal signature stamp is on the back of the canvas.
